SCHOONGEZICHT/PHALANNDWA PROJECT
Mining commenced at Schoongezicht in October 2010. Canyon Coal produces no:2 upper & main and lower seams in this operation. Upper and main seams are suitable to wash for RB1 quality coal. No:2 lower seam is for local power plant consumption quality. No:2 upper and main seam ROM top size is 300 mm. No:2 lower seam ROM is crushed and screened to -50 mm. Total monthly ROM coal production is 120 000 ton.

BRUMMERSHEIM/HAKHANO PROJECT Brummersheim Project became an operational mine in December 2009. It is an opencast mine. DMS plant was commissioned in September 2010. ROM coal is washed and four products are produced with the following indicative quality.
Sized coal is exported out of Maputo Main Port. 0-50 mm product is sold FOB at Richards Bay Coal Terminal. Canyon Coal also supplies coal for local customers from this operation. Montly saleable coal production is 120 000 ton. |
